October Challenge Theme

As you will recall, the August EBW Challenge was won by Annie of StudioAnnieVeillette. Her prize is choosing the Challenge Theme for October and here it is now!

Annie's theme is:

Super-Power Jewelry

Disney, the Mouse's house recently made the acquisition of Marvel. That created quite a storm in the industry. We have seen a lot of SuperHeros movies this year and that seems to be just the beginning of the wave. Therefore I would like to challenge you to dedicate a piece to your favorite Super Heros. Immerse yourself in the fantastic and futuristic or step back in time of Disney cartoon. Possibilities are endless! Run as fast and far as your imagination! It doesnt have to depict your favorite heros but a piece with super powers would be just awesome!

Lazer on girls! (and boys!)

So there you have it and doesn't it sound like fun? What exciting and amazing creations will be entered for October? I can hardly wait to see!

You can start your entry today and must complete and list it by midnight Etsy time, October 5, 2009!

Any style, any technique with a majority of beadweaving is welcome.
ONE only entry allowed per person.
The piece MUST be created between now and September 5, 2009.

See our Challenge FAQ here for all of the details on the rules of our challenges.

  2. Agh! I love it!

  3. AAAaaaaaa! Good I went to see G.I. Joe then ;)
    It's gonna be fun, ppl!

  4. When I was a kid I really liked Thor and also Johnny from Fantastic Four because he could fly while in fire! So... gotta think about this. I'm not thrilled that Disney bought out Marvel. But there are plenty of other comic houses remaining and I do so like the indies best anyways. Ok and Sandman which was DC (although not completely)

  5. Oh I wish I could do this months contest- sounds like fun! But, alas, I have a show to prepare for on the 4th of October, so I'll just be waiting to see all the goodies everyone else comes up with and do my share by voting this time. Good luck everyone!

  6. What an awesome theme. I can't wait to get started!

  7. Yeap, its gonna be a real challenge for me indeed. Love the theme, and force me to think out of the box.

  8. Uh..what happened to September and the Indian Summer theme?
Also, I'm confused more about this post as it states:

"You can start your entry today and must complete and list it by midnight Etsy time, October 5, 2009!

Any style, ..... " be created between now and September 5, 2009."

What's with the two dates!? Did I totally miss something?!
Convo me at my shop if you have any idea!

  9. Cool theme! I had some flash ideas when I read it. Hope I can bring one to fruition!

  10. I'm pretty pumped about this idea too. It's a REALLY good one!! I wonder if some of us will choose the same superhero... :) It would be neat to see the different 'takes'.

  11. It great to see all your comments!

Like Trinity said : "(...) think out of the box"!

Am I so excited to see what will come out of this!

    Happy Power!

  12. Can't wait to see all the fantastic pieces that'll be entered in this one!!

  13. Love it! My little family has been watching SMALLVILLE via netflix, and I have been thinking of a related project for months. I have even seen a beadwoven piece on the show! I already know the title of my piece and have one of the rivolis... off to order more!
